Therapist Associate Intern

Marlen strives to create a safe and empathetic therapeutic environment for individuals to find support in their pursuit for change and growth. Today, Marlen is responding to God’s calling to continue to help others through the authentic integration of the Catholic faith and Counseling. Marlen is currently serving in a house of prayer for women in New Jersey while serving the poor and going on missions with the spiritual guidance of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (CFR’s).


Marlen Baiza graduated with a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL in 2013. She holds a BA degree in Psychology from Florida International University in Miami, FL.


Marlen has worked with foster children and adolescents. She has provided therapeutic services with adults to assist in family reunification processes.  Areas of emphasis in therapy include: mood disorders, self-esteem issues, domestic violence cases, neglect, physical, emotional and sexual abuse trauma. On her latest job in Miami, Marlen worked for Catholic Charities serving refugee children coming from different traumatic experiences suffered in their own countries and on their journey to the US in their pursuit for safety.
