It shouldn’t be about me (but what about me?)

I'll help you unpack the burdens you are carrying.

Have you gotten caught up in focusing on something or someone else and just pushed your thoughts or feelings aside? Or maybe just buried them? Many times I was invited into the ups and downs of my students, their families, my coworkers, or the larger community. A death, a divorce, a diagnosis would strike and my heart and attention would focus on bolstering up those affected. I would end up pushing aside or burying my own experience because “it was supposed to be about them.” Recognizing this tendency in myself, I began to notice how others carried their heavy loads; lovingly caring for others, not even realizing that they were neglecting their own needs. I felt a call to support those who are struggling with these heavy burdens and found that by training to be a Catholic Mentor, I would be equipped to accompany individuals in any walk of life. So if the question, “but what about me?” is welling up in you, I’m here! My goal is to see, hear, and understand you so that you can regain the strength, clarity, and peace to journey on. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we can do that together!

Therefore I will hope: The Lord’s acts of mercy are not exhausted, His compassion is not spent; They are renewed each morning. Lamentations 3:21-22

There’s something about the adventure and promise in a season of transition. I have spent years standing in the growing process with people. Sure, they are hard moments and often filled with questions, doubts, and fears. We all have these moments; I’ve had these moments. You are not alone! If you’re looking for accompaniment, I’m trained as a Catholic Mentor and am here for you. Once you’re signed up, there’s no need to schedule appointments or rearrange your day; you just pull out your phone, click on an app, and easily connect. As the messages flow back and forth, the conversation moves on towards greater freedom through accompaniment.

Integrated Mentorship

We know how God made you, why you're stuck, and how to get you unstuck

The mentorship model I provide allows me to walk with you in full view of your whole humanity- your body, mind, and SPIRIT. We are trained by the CatholicPsych Model to understand you through the lens of Faith, Reason, and Science. This is the ONLY way to really know you, and how to help you.

A Daily Model

Accompaniment modeled after Christ should meet you in the context of your daily life, just like He does.

We help you understand and experience the work of God in your life. And even if you struggle with, or don't even believe in God, we can help you to experience how Goodness, Truth, and Beauty are pursuing you in the context of your lived life. You don't have to compartmentalize your "self-care" away from the rest of your life - I'll be with you every day, to walk with you as you are making your way through whatever real challenges are presented to you.

What are your qualifications?

I am a certified Catholic Mentor through the CatholicPsych CPMAP program. This further training in anthropology, spirituality, and psychology built on years of learning and experience working in schools. I’ve worked with students, colleagues, parents, administration, and community members. I have experience studying abroad and volunteering abroad. I have worked within a spiritual family in which regular vocational discernment took place and have supported those entering religious life and those returning from discerning a religious life and going on to marriage. I’ve had the privilege of working with students who have autism and discovering who they are in all their uniqueness, then building bridges with their parents, other classmates, and adults in the building. I’ve learned to see connecting points that unite the human experience, and also make us beautifully unique. While I am not a licensed therapist and cannot diagnose, or prescribe medications, wherever you are in life, I would welcome the opportunity to get to know you and help you beginning with where you are.

What exactly is Mentorship?

Mentorship (technically called Integrated Daily Dialogic Mentorship, or IDDM) is neither traditional counseling nor spiritual direction, but occupies a unique space in between those two fields. Mentorship is daily accompaniment, looking at you and your story as an integrated whole, examined at your pace, with the goal of finding happiness and holiness in your life.
