“Be kind and merciful. Let no one ever come to you without coming away better and happier.”

- St. Teresa of Calcutta

I'll help you unpack the burdens you are carrying.

Daily life can be a struggle at times. There is so much happening in the world, our communities and even our homes that can be challenging. But we were not meant to travel this journey alone. God is ever-present with us and some are called to accompany others in a unique and special way. That accompaniment is called Catholic Mentorship. I invite you to step into this oasis, away from all the chaos of the world and experience peace, consolation and healing.

“We are not called to fix others, but to love them as Christ does: patiently, faithfully and without condition.” - Unknown

Each life, each soul is created by God to be unique and unrepeatable and that includes you. Life is filled with joys and sorrows, ups and downs. God has called each of us to pick up our cross and follow Him. But even He did not carry His cross alone. I would like to be a ‘Simon of Cyrene’ for you. We have all been wounded in relationship and we can find healing in relationship as well. We were meant to walk in freedom through this life, being able to give and receive love freely. So come and allow Him to unburden you and live as your authentic self.

the world needs a catholic standard of mental health

“Everyone, in fact, especially those who have heeded the divine call to follow Christ closely, needs to be accompanied personally by a guide reliable in doctrine and expert in the things of God”

Integrated Mentorship

We know how God made you, why you're stuck, and how to get you unstuck

The mentorship model I provide allows me to walk with you in full view of your whole humanity- your body, mind, and SPIRIT. We are trained by the CatholicPsych Model to understand you through the lens of Faith, Reason, and Science. This is the ONLY way to really know you, and how to help you.

A Daily Model

Accompaniment modeled after Christ should meet you in the context of your daily life, just like He does.

We help you understand and experience the work of God in your life. And even if you struggle with, or don't even believe in God, we can help you to experience how Goodness, Truth, and Beauty are pursuing you in the context of your lived life. You don't have to compartmentalize your "self-care" away from the rest of your life - I'll be with you every day, to walk with you as you are making your way through whatever real challenges are presented to you.

What are your qualifications?

I am a graduate of the CPMAP (Catholic Psych Model of Applied Personalism) program and a certified Mentor and Partner with the Catholic Psych Institute. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Duke University and have devoted my life to the study of the human person. Having grown up in a military family, I learned to adapt to life’s changes as we moved every 3-4 years during my childhood.

I then served as a Naval officer for 9 years and upon leaving the Navy, married a Naval submarine officer. Let’s just say I know my way around the military! After having our fifth child, we began homeschooling our children. Although our children had been attending Catholic school, we wanted a deeper commitment to our Catholic faith, with the option to attend daily Mass and travel more.

After 17 years as a homeschooling mom, my last child graduated and is now in college. Having also navigated the devastating experience of divorce after 28 years of marriage, I am eager to accompany others through their marital pain and struggles, as well as the annulment process, if needed. During this time, my college-aged daughter found out she was pregnant, yet another experience that although difficult, has brought us so much joy as a family. I am a grandmother of 3 and look forward to the many years ahead, celebrating life with family.

I am eager to begin this journey of accompaniment with you…..will you accept the invitation?

What exactly is Mentorship?

Mentorship (technically called Integrated Daily Dialogic Mentorship, or IDDM) is neither traditional counseling nor spiritual direction, but occupies a unique space in between those two fields. Mentorship is daily accompaniment, looking at you and your story as an integrated whole, examined at your pace, with the goal of finding happiness and holiness in your life.
