My journey started in documentary filmmaking, where I loved sitting with people and hearing their stories. That curiosity led me to study psychology. One day I asked a professor why he chose this work, and he said he wanted to learn to love others well. That moment changed my heart, and it's where my desire for this work of accompaniment began.
I earned my bachelor's degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University and my master's in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University. I learned to assess, diagnose, and treat, and I'm grateful for everything that training gave me. Yet I kept sensing something was missing. I had been trained to care for the mind, and I longed to walk with the whole human person: mind, body, and soul.
As I learned more, I began to notice my own relational wounds and the places where I was longing for healing. For years I had quietly believed that if I were disciplined enough, prayerful enough, and put together enough, I would finally be at peace and finally be lovable. Then I went through mentorship, and I was loved right in the messiness and imperfections. It reached the deeper roots that nothing else was able to name.
So I've sat in both chairs: as the one trained to help, and as the one longing for healing. I've seen how much deeper and more lasting healing can go when someone is received as a whole person. That is what drew me to complete the CatholicPsych Model of Applied Personalism (CPMAP) Certification.
Personalism, rooted in the teaching of Saint John Paul II, holds that you are made good, unique, and unrepeatable, worthy of love because of who you are, not what you do. You are someone to be loved, never something to be used or fixed.
As a Certified Partner Mentor, I don't begin with a diagnosis. I begin with you. Day by day, I walk with you through the real, ordinary moments of your life and help you notice where God is already meeting you there.
My hope for you isn't that you'll finally measure up, but that you'll discover you were never meant to be measured at all. As you receive peace and rest from the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and His Love for you, something beautiful happens. Trust becomes the antidote to control, especially in the places of uncertainty in your life. The hours you once spent managing yourself open up for what truly nourishes you, and you discover your capacity to live a life of virtue and flourishing.
Jesus says it so gently:
"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life and what you will eat, or about your body and what you will wear. For life is more than food and the body more than clothing … Can any of you by worrying add a moment to your life-span? If even the smallest things are beyond your control, why are you anxious about the rest?"
Luke 12:22-23, 25-26 (NABRE)
If this sounds like you, I'd be honored to schedule a free consultation call with you to explore your next good step. I'm hopeful that together, we can help you rest a little deeper in trusting the truth that you are already beloved.
Mentorship (technically called Integrated Daily Dialogic Mentorship, or IDDM) is neither traditional counseling nor spiritual direction, but occupies a unique space in between those two fields. Mentorship is daily accompaniment, looking at you and your story as an integrated whole, examined at your pace, with the goal of finding happiness and holiness in your life.
