What is CPMAP?

CPMAP, also known as the CatholicPsych Model of Applied Personalism, was developed by Dr. Greg Bottaro for those interested in ministry, mental health professions, and leadership positions who want to truly inspire change in others. The certification program combines psychology, theology, and philosophy to prepare you for walking with individuals as they face the struggles of everyday life. Whether aiding someone through a dilemma or assisting with their well-being, CPMAP equips you with the necessary tools to create a meaningful impact.

Candid With Our Students

Meet Dr. Greg Bottaro: The Visionary Behind CPMAP

I'm Dr. Greg Bottaro, and I spent 7 years building a group practice with a deeply Catholic way of providing psychotherapy to people who were suffering.

In our previous practice, we expanded to 5 states, I had 6 licenses myself, and we found ways to provide therapy integrating Catholic principles with the practice.

I realized during this time that there are so many people suffering with with St. John Paul 2 called "moral suffering," who may fall through the cracks because they don't meet the strict diagnostic criteria of the secular mental health system.

There's a huge gap between needing no help at all, and having a diagnosable and obvious psychopathology. Many people are hesitant to seek licensed mental health care, but really could use help.

That was when I realized that God was calling me to go deeper in following Jesus, learning how he approached people, met them where they were at, and helped them take their next good step.

That was the birth of our mentorship program, and now I want to train others to do the same.

Why CPMAP Stands Out

Curriculum that Goes Beyond Traditional Education

Our program is built on a unique ā€œTriple Integrationā€ model that combines faith, reason, and science into a cohesive approach. We integrate practical and spiritual knowledge to help train you to understand and heal the deeper issues.

Built for the Real World

Not everyone needs or wants a licensed mental health professional. Yet up till now, anyone with a "vocation to heal" is limited to these secular licensing programs. Through CPMAP, you will be prepared in half the time and for half the cost of most other mental health graduate programs, while receiving twice the return on investment. We focus on what truly matters, eliminating unnecessary barriers.

Community and Support

During the certification, students are supported by real-world learning through daily supervision and mentorship from the CatholicPsych Team. The success of our students is a top priority to us. Going through CPMAP certification, you'll be in a position to not just graduate but thrive.

Bring True Transformation to the Live of Others

CPMAP isn't just about getting certified; it's about boosting your capacity to connect with others in their everyday moments from the mundane to the most vulnerable. You'll discover how to connect with people like never before, blend psychology with beliefs, and infuse every encounter with spiritual support. This initiative aims to not only aid those you assist but also nurture your own personal and spiritual development.

A Personalized Approach Focused on Your Needs Even After Graduation

Here at CatholicPsych we firmly believe in supporting our students beyond the confines of the classroom. From granting access to resources to providing tailored mentorship, we are dedicated to your success from the second you apply for the training. Our hands-on method ensures that you not only gain knowledge but also receive guidance on how to apply it in your professional endeavors. With CatholicPsych, you'll have support as you progress toward becoming a Certified Catholic Accompaniment Practitioner.

CPMAP Integrates Psychology, Theology, and Philosophy, for a Completely New Way to Heal

At CPMAP our approach is deeply rooted in merging psychology, with theology and philosophy. We firmly believe that genuine healing can only be achieved when we consider the fullness and complexity of an individual. Our program is founded on the beliefs of St. John Paul II ensuring that all psychological principles are viewed through the perspective of his teachings. This one-of-a-kind training enables you to offer care that nurtures both the spirit and the mind.
