God Is Inviting You to Experience Peace This Lent

Half of adults in America reported experiencing anxiety or depression in 2023. And it’s not difficult to see why. Relationships are broken, loneliness is prevailing, money is tight, jobs are insecure, death and sickness and confusion surround us… It might feel impossible to survive–let alone thrive–at times. And peace might feel like a completely foreign concept to you.

What most adults in America don’t realize is that a strong relationship with God is fundamentally necessary for any chance at real peace.

What most adults in America don’t realize is that a strong relationship with God is fundamentally necessary for any chance at real peace.

God Created you to make changes

You want to be the best version of yourself. God made you to want that.

We all know Lent is a time to do something different in our spiritual lives. What we often don’t emphasize enough is that Lent is a time to recalibrate our relationship with God the Father. And if that’s the case, then Lent becomes an opportunity for us to recalibrate and renew our sense of who we are in relationship with God and who He is. It’s time to clear out some of our bad habits of self-reliance and illusions of self-sufficiency and restore a sense of being children in the arms of God the Father.

“The peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” –Philippians 4:7

What does PEACE really mean?

There are daily temptations to fall away from the reality of God’s love and be pulled into the frantic race of life, wondering if everything is really going to be OK and trying to take control of our own future. The battle for interior peace rests on accepting our circumstances and trusting that God uses everything in our lives for good. This is the peace God invites you to.

What does FREEDOM look like?

We can learn to turn toward anything and everything that comes our way with a sense of confidence that all will be well because we have a God who loves us and makes all things well. Freedom requires conversion, change, and growth. It means learning to see things more like God does, and ultimately trusting his promise that all will be well.

If God wants freedom and peace for my life, why does it feel so distant or even impossible?

Because we are not called to get there on our own. Discipleship is a journey that we make together.

"This is the best thing I've ever done for my spiritual AND

emotional life."

"I always wondered if I could benefit from seeing someone but after watching my friends continue to struggle after they tried regular therapy, I didn't think it'd be worth my time. When I saw Dr. Greg's townhall about mentorship, I took the chance on something new and am so glad I did. There's almost no way to describe what happens when you have an expert at the interior life looking at yours, with you, for you. I felt so SEEN. It's so grace-filled and almost miraculous."

"If you're always the one taking care of others, you need this."

It's too easy to take care of everything, for everyone, all the time. I know our faith teaches us to rely on God, but that's easier said than done, especially when so many people count on us. Mentorship was for me that sacred space where I knew God was working, where my defenses could come down, and where, for once, I could choose to really let someone else help me. Yes, my mentor was talented, but in the end I knew it was actually God using him to help me."

often asked

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions people have about the program

How is this different from regular Mentorship from CatholicPsych?

Great question. Our one-month experience is much more directive than our traditional Mentorship model (also known as IDDM). In Mentorship, we tend to take longer to go deeper, while this offer is an introductory experience to the CatholicPsych model of accompaniment. We start off with clearly articulated goals, that when accomplished will greatly improve your experience of the immediate circumstances of your life.

What exactly happens during these 6 weeks?

You will start off with a coaching call to discuss your goals, and an in-depth questionnaire you fill out on your own time that will give your mentor everything necessary to help you reach them. There are four specific categories you will discuss; Your unconscious narratives affecting your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, your relationship patterns both past and present, your dreams and desires, and your relationship to money. You'll spend roughly a week on each category working daily with your mentor that you are assigned. At the end of the 6 weeks, you'll have a followup coaching call with the same person you had the initial coaching call with.

How do you know what to work on?

The CatholicPsych Institute has developed a specialized model of integrated accompaniment, called the CPMAP, that combines faith, reason, and science. We apply the objective principles understood through our model with the subjective experience of your life (as communicated through your intake questionnaire and initial coaching call) to help you move past hidden hurdles and reach your deepest goals.

Are we able to work on something longer than 6 weeks?

Yes of course! After the first 6 weeks, you will have a followup coaching call during which you will assess how well you've met your initial goals. During this time you can also discuss options for continued mentorship with your mentor or if you'd like to try to work with someone different. Ongoing mentorship after the first 6 weeks will be based on our traditional IDDM model, which tends to go a bit deeper and is less directive, and will cost more than the one-month time-limited offer. (Though our fees are always based on a sliding scale).

What's the difference between a Student Mentor and a Certified Mentor (practically)?

Student mentors are enrolled in our CPMAP Certification Program. This is the official training program of the CatholicPsych Institute in which we train people over 2 years how to integrate Faith, Reason, and Science (Spirituality, Philosophy, and Psychology) to accompany others in a Truly Catholic manner. There is no other training program in the world quite like it.

As part of our program, students are assigned to clients they implement what they are learning with. Each student is under the direct supervision of a Training Director, whom they communicate with on a daily basis. All cases are discussed, and clients are never without the benefit of the attention of the highest trained Mentors of the CatholicPsych Institute.

In choosing to sign up for mentorship with a student mentor, you are giving back to the training and formation of mentors for future clients (which is why there is a much lower fee) while receiving guidance held within the protection of expert supervision. However, if you are not comfortable working with a student, you may opt to work with one of our certified mentors instead still at a significantly discounted rate! Normally mentorship with a certified mentor is $1500/month.

THIS PROGRAM CLOSES ON FEBRUARY 13, 2024 OR WHENEVER SPOTS ARE FILLED UP BEFORE THEN
